About

Some people capture moments.
Others capture perspectives.

I’m Paul James Smith, a professional photographer and videographer based in Auckland, New Zealand, and my journey behind the lens has always been driven by one thing—angles that tell a story.

Photography, for me, isn’t just about pressing the shutter. It’s about where you stand, what you notice, and how you see the world differently. That’s exactly how the name PJ Angles was born—PJ from my initials, and Angles from the way I naturally frame life. Friends and fellow creatives noticed it long before I did, and the name simply stuck.

Seeing the World Differently

My work lives outdoors.

From dramatic landscapes and immersive travel scenes to quiet moments in nature, expressive portraits, and vibrant events, I’m constantly drawn to environments where emotion and movement meet. I look for light that changes stories, perspectives that feel uncommon, and compositions that invite people to pause.

Every frame I create is intentional designed to make you feel something, not just see it.

The Tools Behind the Vision

Mirrorless Sony Camera for precision and dynamic range.
GoPro Hero for immersive action and adventure shots.
DJI Drone for cinematic aerial perspectives.

A Growing Global Journey

Over time, my work has found its way across multiple platforms including Instagram, Pexels, and Pixabay, where it has collectively reached 200,000+ viewers worldwide.

Seeing my photographs and videos resonate with people across different countries and cultures has been incredibly rewarding—and it pushes me to keep exploring, creating, and refining my craft.

Bringing Travel to Your Walls

Beyond digital platforms, I also curate and sell fine art print posters of my travel and landscape photography.

These prints are designed to bring:

  • Calm to your living space

  • Adventure to your workspace

  • A sense of escape to your walls

Each photograph is captured with the intention of creating a lasting visual experience, not just decoration.
